Technical Artist (Senior)

Job description

Help build the foundations of a fantasy world. We're looking for a experienced technical expert for the visual pipeline on a AAA title - someone who can coach a team to make their graphics shine in Unreal Engine 4.

In this role you will:

  • Work with other artists to optimise their assets to work well and look great within Unreal Engine 4 and our technical specs
  • Work with our tools developer to create and test tools to improve the content creation pipeline
  • Investigate new techniques and tools and share that knowledge with the wider team 
  • Work closely with the core programming and tools team
  • Create materials and write shaders that bring our game world to life and get the most out of UE4
  • Debug complex assets such as rigging and animation

Job requirements

  • At least 3-6 years industry experience
  • Extensive understanding of Unreal Engine 4's rendering system
  • Excellent problem-solving skills working with both programmers and artists
  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience
  • Comfortable working within technical constraints
  • Fluent knowledge of 3D modelling, texturing and animation software and pipelines


  • Experience with Unreal Engine 4 Blueprints
  • Experience in level design
